Basic Dishwasher Maintenance
Dishwashers clean themselves for the most part during every use. However, to keep your dishwasher at peak performance, simple monthly maintenance will keep the repair person at bay!
Check around the drain on the bottom and remove any larger food items that may be down there. Then take a normal cup, put it in the middle of the top rack and fill it about 2/3rds with white vinegar. Run the dishwasher on the normal cycle with hot water for extra sterilization. The vinegar loosens soap scum, food particles, and grease from the dishwasher's walls and racks and washes down the drain.
